can yall not understand character flaws and set up for growth
It's one thing to have the character flaw of being an asshole and doing things like declaring the others to be weak and saying you're superior to them; not considering others' problems; discarding advice etc etc. All of which was done in some way in the episode, and all of which was absolutely fine.
It's another thing entirely to cross the line into instantly wanting to kill an innocent person with not only no remorse, but with a smile on your face. It actually makes them come across as worse than the villains and does nothing to make you want to see them get redeemed; it just kind of makes you go "wow. What an unhinged pair of psychopaths".
The main points of the scene - that these two are willing to go for much more radical methods; that sometimes those methods might be necessary; using those as a way to further the already-established premise of the pair feeling they're superior to the other Ryousoulgers and Green in particular rubbing it in their faces - could have been achieved much more effectively without overdoing it on the malice and without making them seem completely unsympathetic. As is they're so quick to it and so malicious about it that it actually distracts from those points; weakening the scene and their characters as a result.
The framing of the scene and how something is put across absolutely matters. I would please ask that you watch the episode before patronising someone for their opinion.
