The crux of my issue with Green and Black is more about how the episode portrays it than their actions themselves. Something about the way all of it is framed suggested to me that the show considered all of this a lot more minor than it was.

I guarantee you Towa and Bamba's character development is going to amount to simply learning to "not be jerks", the same way any other jerk rival character's arc goes. It seems less like the show has some clever and fresh plan for them and more like they came up with a very rushed and ill-advised way to show how they're not nice. There's a million ways to soften this and make it work better (have them seem more remorseful about "having" to do it, emphasize the ticking clock more to make their argument easier to agree with, NOT go out of your way to show both Towa and Bamba half a second away from going through with it), but they didn't do any of that.

I'm not sure how committed I am to criticizing this show yet, but my gut keeps telling me this whole plot point was too bizarrely heavy for Super Sentai and their attempt to keep the tone light only served to create a weird clash. I'm pretty sure friggin' Wolzard would've had more qualms about doing something like this, and his entire shtick was being an EVIL knight. This whole thing just doesn't sit right with me.
