Kuuga definitely had a very, very strong premiere. One really specific thing I always appreciated about the fight scene at the end was how it shows Growing Form pushing that bus into the spider Grongi and building up enough momentum to smash it through a wall, only for the Grongi to be unharmed.

The whole fight is super representative of Kuuga's attitude as a series in how Yuusuke is barely scraping by throughout, and I always thought it was neat that it's explicitly shown visually that Growing Form is actually far stronger than a normal person like that. If he were just getting wailed on the entire time, the viewer's instinct would be to start questioning why Kuuga is so weak, but because the show establishes he isn't, you're almost guaranteed to have the intended reaction of "holy crap, these monster guys are tough".

Man, I love Kuuga so much. Those first couple episodes will always be extra special to me, too, because I think I watched the first one literally right after the first episode of OOO back in the day, which would make it the second ever episode of the entire franchise I saw if I'm not remembering that incorrectly. Not a bad place to start.
