The funny thing is, Episode 4 of Kuuga is my favourite so far. The fact that you watched Kuuga that early Fish shows me exactly where you got your love for a good rider machine scene from; because Kuuga getting his Trychaser felt right and triumphant in every single way and makes me wish for more scenes of him on it. And then he goes and changes it to his colour scheme in the next episode, and it's just even better.

I've gotten through just the first 5 episodes of Kuuga so far, but I'm really enjoying what I'm seeing for the moment. Having only seen Amazon and the three post-RX movies of the Showa era, I'm not sure how valuable my opinion about this is; but something about this feels like they were really pushing the revival aspect of "punching bugman is back my dudes" without explicitly stating it or having any ties to the original or even going for overarching themes beyond the obligatory spider and bat; and I just love that. I think the thing that really pushes it home for me is the theme -- it's of course describing Kuuga as a whole, but when you've got lines like "Legends will be rewritten" and "A blazing revival" - well, depending on your subtitles - it's really hard not to read into it as "Kamen Rider is fucking back, baby". And it makes me wonder if the entire concept of Kuuga being a revived and revamped legend is intended to be a metaphor for that as well.
