Part of the treatment by Saban Brands is because of the prevealant dichotomy between episodic and serialized storytelling.

I have also wondered if the over-simplified angle is also for parental benefit. A self-contained story helps a parent understand what they let their children watch. I know those who find it easier to follow an episodic series rather than a serialized one. That and Nick's awkward scheduling practices.

I do believe Hasbro will make large and phenomenal changes, but they also have to hedge their bets (Saban made a lot off the deal with Hasbro). If Hasbro doesn't take it slowly, then they could unnerve and alienate fans with rash and thoughtless decisions.

They need time to get into the, for lack of a better phrase, Groove of the Morphing Grid!
