I suppose. I just feel like they could've found a middle ground between "total background player" and "two-episode spotlight". Or maybe spent a little time building him up first? A funny scene here, some contribution to a group scene there, something. As it is, we're asked to acknowledge Shibuya's turbulent family life in one episode, then basically have him be "the glasses one" again directly after that. It's, yeah, something we're supposed to take very seriously, then immediately forget.
