In any case, given the criticisms you've brought up of Sentai - which, honestly, I mostly agree with - I can very, very highly recommend Go-Busters. It didn't quite hit me why I liked it so much more than others until a friend who watched it recently described it as feeling like Kamen Rider and it just all fit together.
Given the type of thing you like going by what you've written, if you ever want to try a Sentai; try Go-Busters. If you don't like even that I think you can safely say Sentai isn't for you.
I'm going to try to put the Rider/Sentai thing, about which I know next to nothing, into a specific comic book character context because that's how I make my living: It's like Kamen Rider shows are Batman and Sentai shows are Superman. They're both superheroes, and to people with no interest they'd probably seem identical. But to fans of each, there are huge tonal differences and idiosyncrasies. Some folks are big enough fans to like both, but others are looking for a specific kind of story that only one does. Occasionally, there's a change-up where the darker one gets lighter, and the lighter one gets darker, so people can find an exception that might make the one they don't like more appealing. Otherwise, they're just trying to do slightly different things.
I don't know, that's my mostly ill-informed way of boiling down the differences between two multi-decade franchises into a one paragraph comparison. You're welcome!
