One reported incident of breakage isn't enough to make me nervous, I've had Figuarts break at basic joints, it happens. It sucks regardless, but I don’t feel like doomsaying every figure that has it.
I've also experienced breakage at basic elbow joint. My SHF Kamen Rider Scissors broke at the left elbow joint about 2 months ago. It broke at the peg that connected the joint to the forearm. But the forearm is still connected to the joint. My SHF Kamer Rider Odin also experienced visible stretch mark at the right knee joint. All I got from them was slight reduction in friction. And those figures are 6 years old.
While with the new elbow joint, if that
single
pivot joint breaks, the forearm will be disconnected from the arm. Forever. What I'll get is not reduction in friction, but a figure with mutilated forearm. This risk of failure is inherent in the structure of the joint itself, not merely material or manufacturing defect. From engineering standpoint, this kind of single point of failure is unacceptable.
Well, I guess I'll just wait and see.

.. Reason: Changed "almost 5 years" to "6 years".
