I'm glad you aren't defending the mecha. Because no one can I'll give it one thing, Geki Violet is easily the best non-standard color and costume for a sentai hero I've ever seen. Love it. Gosieger on the other hand? I love all the costumes, I absolutely adore that regal almost royal look they all have, especially Knight.

The mecha bug me because in general I LOVE big crazy stackers. Ultimate Daibouken and G12 are 2 of my favorite sentai robos ever. Ultimate for it's simplicity and stream-lined combo. G12 for it's absurdity. Gekiranger being in the middle of those 2, and lacking a truly awesome combo like that really brings the mecha down in my eyes. The Saidaioh combos almost go somewhere but not far enough. Goseiger really does it for me in that regard with wacky combos too.

The show itself isn't terrible but there are just so many aspects to it that bug me. Like Jan being so annoying, stated issues with the mecha, and costumes. I found the characters themselves to be far too annoying to attach myself too. Rio and Mele are cool to a certain extent but they really don't blow me away like they seem to do for most people.
