I obviously get that it's just a general atmosphere of terror anyone would logically want to get away from, but the Grongi straddle the line between serial killers and natural disaster, and there are plenty of real life cases of people keeping calm and carrying on while being at risk to either of those. I don't think it stretches disbelief as much as it seems like since as the viewer, we're seeing nothing but the monsters. And if we wanna talk realism, I'd kind of love to see someone work out the logistics of a sudden mass exodus of Tokyo and all the problems that would create.

Well, Daguva alone kills (I believe) tens of thousands between episodes 46 and 47. Besides him, I think the body counts for the final few Grongi top out in the 200-300 range.

For me, it's less the individual body counts (which are still massacres!) and more that this shit is happening weekly in Tokyo for a year. I understand people persevering in wartime (Build, for example, makes a meal of that concept), and the odd natural disaster is a tragedy. It's just, this would be like if a train line derailed every few days or so for a year. Stop taking the train! Avoid all trains!
