But it's unfortunately the reality of the situation that it does exist, and thus if you want to have and articulate the figure you're gonna need to make a compromise somewhere. Yeah, it blows, but it's also nowhere near as bad as "If you so much as look at the elbows they'll break!" like what alot of Zolda's' posts around the boards have suggested.
It's even
worse
than "If you so much as look at the elbows they'll break!".
It's the
DIRECTION
that Bandai is taking the Shinkocchou Seihou line to. The announcement of the SHF SS Den-O proved (so far) that Bandai was doubling down (or rather,
tripling down
) on this new joint system, after implementing it on SHF SS OOO Tatoba and SHF SS Gatakiriba. As THE prestige line of 1:12 action figures that Bandai offers, we can safely say that this decision is going to be implemented on ALL future SHF SS releases, and probably regular SHFs as well.
Now, THIS is the problem. Instead of isolating the damage and put a stop loss on their portfolio by only committing one blunder, they decided instead to commit the same blunder two(!) more times. The problem is not releasing a figure with super fragile joints. The problem is releasing a figure with super fragile joints, NOT learning from the blunder, AND committing the same blunder on two other releases. So, highly anticipated unreleased SHF SS lines (to me), like Ex-Aid, Faiz, Gaim, and God forbid,
Ryuki
, almost certainly will use this new joint system. We can all imagine how epic the fail will be.
Well, let's sit back, and just wait and see.
Let the final arbiter, time, answer this question:
"How many broken joints does it take to change Bandai executives' minds?"
