I'm loving that you appreciate Shouichi's mindfulness so much, by the way; he's a great main character and I really liked the choices the narrative made with him. For Agito, yeah, Shouichi's a very distinct Rider, which is ironic considering how much Agito visually blends with Kuuga. Maybe that's a reason why he doesn't seem to get as much love as I think he deserves? Maybe if the Agito suits were as distinct as his character, people'd be more vocal about enjoying Agito?

I think the subs I have put it as "DON'T QUESTION ME" or something? He's got some weird quirks, for sure. That catchphrase, his coffee skills, his absolutely bizarre and infantilizing-but-weirdly-deferential relationship with Akiko that inexplicably ends up with them married and him still calling her Chief... Huh. Accel's a decently weird character, I guess.
