Most likely a coincidence. Kids have always loved Dinosaurs decades before Jurassic Park. Not to mention, Zyuranger sold very well in Japan despite the mixed reactions it had when it was airing. It made sense for Saban to go with Zyuranger than Jetman or Fiveman at the time because most little kids would buy anything with a T-Rex slap on to it.

I was someone who was super into Dinosaurs when I was very little and MMPR having prehistoric animals is how I got into the series at the time.
