Sure, okay. For Auntie, maybe she doesn't think Yui smiles because Yui absolutely doesn't smile around Auntie. For Shinji, it's weird, for sure.

Oh, man, I love the humor in Kamen Rider when it's done right. Like, in general, I love how many moves a Kamen Rider series can have in it: humor, horror, action, drama, romance, morals, all of it. I like all of those things, I like all different kinds of stories, and Kamen Rider's capable of doing all of them.

There're limits to all of that, though. Kuuga went too hard on Apocalyptic Body Count for me, Amazons got pretty in the weeds on Moral Philosophy, and humor's so subjective that nearly every show's had moments where I'm like Okay Pull It Back. It's about balance, it's about proportion. Shimada going on a date with her stuffed doll, funny. Shinji destroying an office, not funny. I could try and drill down into the whys of it, but I just didn't laugh at the latter like I did the former.
