Because the vibe I'm getting of watching Thouser's atrocity is "How the hell did Aruto doesn't want to kill this guy after everything he put him through?".
Well, it's mostly because Aruto, as much as he hates Gai, clearly values life a great deal, human or Humagear. But even he's been showing the end of his patience about that.

Another thing is that, since the trend of opposing Riders uniting since....... Drive, I guess? I hope Thouser didn't end up joining the main heroes. I really want a Rider who is evil from the start. The last time we got that was with Kamen Rider Duke and Sigurd. And while Kuroto is still treated as the bad guy, he is still an ally to the doctor Riders. And since Zero-One is somewhat similar to Ex-Aid because they share the writers (Jin, Horobi, and Lil' Assassin felt a lot like Parado, Kuroto and Graphite), I kinda fear if Thouser ended up joining our heroes. Not that it's a bad thing, it's just I want to see a wildcard evil Rider like Ohja again.
Ironically I got a feeling that Horobi and Jin will end up joining our heroes late in the series.
I don't think they'll try redeeming Gai. At least, there's no indication that they will. For the most part, he's already been written as a overall terrible person who doesn't really hold himself to the morals that he spouts. There's very little good in him. Horobi and Jin honestly do seem a lot more likely, considering the current trajectory of the plot, which is a little frustrating, since I didn't really want that, either.
Like I still honestly hope that when everything crumbles down around Gai, that the Ark itself will directly become the villain, and that it's going to be the thing that ruins everything for Gai.

While that seems like a fun idea, I doubt that they'd pull a twist like that with Gai.
I feel like I should mention this since I neglected to mention it in the opening post, I do think Gai does a decent job of being the character to hate because of his actions. It's just that at the same time, it's draining to see the main characters constantly fail against him without any of their victories feeling like real victories, and that brings down the writing because of it. Hopefully the episode where things go wrong for Gai isn't too far off, and that it actually starts off the next arc after we see how low things get for Aruto after the final round and the denouement of the ZAIA Vs. Hiden Arc. But I don't necessarily think that will happen soon either.
Man, I want to enjoy Zero-One again, but as of right now, the ZAIA Vs. Hiden Arc is the contender for its worst arc, in spite of the fact that there are literally only two arcs right now. Somehow, at its current 13 episode-length, it feels way longer than the 16 episode-long Metsuboujinrai.net Arc (mostly in part due to the previously mentioned change to the two-parter format for stories). Granted, Yuya Takahashi isn't the sole writer like he was with Ex-Aid, but he still written the lion's share of episodes, so it's still kinda on him for the lackluster writing of this arc? And I hate saying that, considering I really enjoyed Ex-Aid a LOT. I guess if Nachi Sakuragi had just went off like Tetsuya Iwanaga, we might have had at least a more entertaining villain.
