[Switchblade]

Starting to catch up on Zero-One. The rapper HumaGear was way less cringey than I feared, but I'm still having issues with this era of the show. The main problem, of course, is Gai. He's a terrible villain and one of the most grating and obnoxious characters Kamen Rider has ever produced. He is without any redeeming merit and I hate how his mere presence turned Aruto into a blithering idiot. The worst part, though, is that I also think he's right.

Gai's not wrong about the HumaGears. They are a dangerous and unstable form of technology. Sure, Izu is moe as fuck, but all the rest of them are one bad interaction with humanity away from going berserk and monster-ing out. There is definitely a major problem here and it's not going to be solved by Aruto grabbing it around the waist and screaming its name. I hate that I kind of agree with one of the villain's main premises, especially because he is such an incredibly terrible character.
