Oh boy I've been waiting for this as I unironically love Toshiki Inoue works. And as such since this is his first thing he ever worked on for Rider I had to get in on the disscusion. I like these episodes conversly I like how they handle Chouno sure we aren't given his full backstory but why would he? He dosen't know any of these people he not just going to spill. And I like that his problems don't go away after this they still persist. Chouno is a cynic like you said but the show dosen't treat his cyncism as inherently wrong just really misguided with his respect for the Grongi with his convo with Yusuke saying that people can't fully understand one another. It makes Yusuke feel more real as his style of helping out can't help Chouno rather it's Tsubaki who has a different mind set do to his position as coroner that allows him to gice Chouno the wake up call he needed. It makes the charcters less one-note. Tsubaki isn't just the doctor or Enokida as the scientist they all have thier own stories to tell not just to exist for the plot. I could go on but to end this Toshiki Inoue rules and I will gladly even rewatch the ZI-O Kiva/Ginga tribute episodes to prove this point.
