Yeah, speaking as an Old, it was likely going to be a newsgroup or a BBS on AOL or CompuServe or something. Actual websites, they just weren't indexed enough to be a hub for people to share information. Which is not to say that fan websites didn't exist in 2000! It's just that they weren't sharing information as thoroughly or as reliably. Most folks were still getting information from fanzines and newsletters. Like animals!
