That's a good point! It's also a topic that gets explored in a lot of darker monster shows, the Humans Are The Real Monsters thing. The thing I enjoy about how Kamen Rider uses it is that, yeah, they'll hit that beat of a regular person just being awful, but then there's still a layer of Okay But There Are Still Legit Monsters As Well. It's having its thematic cake and Rider Kicking it, too.

I can't speak to the Blade-through-Decade drivers and collectibles, but I do like the Faiz take on it. I think I've said before that I dig how the belt and accessories have to get hauled around with them, but this episode had a surprisingly involved sequence of Takumi, like, building Faiz out of a half-dozen bits of gear. It's not just some belt showing up from a mirror, it's this Ikea manual of how to make a tokusatsu hero. Very fun little moment in the Henshin process, for my tastes.
