I mean, I don't know if I'd say any mention "sets him off", exactly. Moments like that one just emphasize how, this far into the show, Yuusuke is starting to get worn down mentally from everything that's happened. When Yuusuke gets angry, it doesn't just mean he's losing his cool, it also means he's losing his focus. I'm not sure how well I'm getting across what I'm trying to say right now. Like, the rage is the main thing, for sure, but I think the problems Yuusuke is dealing with are a little less blunt and simple than just "Grongi make him mad". There's an implication he's starting to get sick of just... the entire experience of being Kuuga. He's repressing as much hate for what the Grongi are making him into as he is for the Grongi themselves, I think, which would explain why Baberu complimenting his talent for violence would be one of the remarks that does get under his skin to that level.

Kuuga and the police generally try to soften them up first specifically to prevent that from happening, I presume. Jaraji actually did try to fight back, to his credit, but of course, it didn't make much difference.

Oh I don't, that's exactly what makes it such a hilarious gag! These characters just have absolutely no talent for coming up with cool names. It's as Kuuga as Kuuga gets.

To be fair, all Minori says is that Ichijou rarely smiles, not that he never does at all, which I'd argue is true enough. Keep in mind that we the viewers also get to see those smiles he hides, or does without anyone around, a luxury the other characters in the show don't have.
