Kusaka is a very extreme example of anti-hero, but he's probably not even one, he's probably full on villain protagonist.

The Secondary Rider of Gaim qualifies the most as a villain protagonist, y'know, with his attempt to commit genocide of the human race. Kusaka is the most extreme antihero but the fact that he protects humans from Orphenochs means he cannot be a true villain. Geiz starts out as more of an antivillain whenever he tries to kill Sougo since he's doing it to save his future. He changes in to a hero when he decides to believe in the present Sougo. I wouldn't lump Gaim with the truly heroic Primary Riders, that show is full of depraved characters and Kouta is merely a lesser evil. Knuckle is probably the best hero candidate from that show since I can't recall that he ever did anything wrong. Ouja is definitely a villain but sometimes circumstances of Rider War would force him to work together with the other 3 main Vent Riders.
