I've been in your position. Honestly, just put it up as a huge lot on ebay with a starting bid for just the price of shipping.

I've done this often with collections that started to feel like a burden. It feels good to slim down a collection and hopefully the stuff finds a new home with someone who will appreciate it.

What helps me manage my collecting addiction is a spreadsheet that lists all the parts of my collection. Looking at it and seeing all the stuff I already have has stopped me from needlessly buying more stuff. Also, when I see something new, I ask myself how it fits into my collection and if it's something I'm still going to enjoy 2 months later. If you've been collecting for long enough, you'll know when that's true.
