That's a really good rule! I've got a similar one; I forget where I first heard it but I've kept it close to my heart ever since -- leave it for now, and if you've forgotten about it or don't care much about it 1-2 weeks later; did you really want it that much in the first place beyond the initial hype?

Granted, stuff like limited pre-orders (especially on Kamen Rider toys hahahahaha,) can make this a difficult rule to actually put into practise sometimes, but it works especially well for toys you can get locally or stuff on Mandarake or something. It also makes it really nice when 1-2 weeks later you realise you do still want it, and it makes you even more excited for the thing!
