Yeah, it can be a problem franchise-wide. Double had some late-series stuff that I found difficult to invest in, and Ex-Aid would have a few stops and starts to its plotlines.

Easily one of the trickiest things in this franchise is balancing the character development with the long-form plot. When series end up not working, I think that's the easiest thing to point the finger at.

That's one of the reasons I'm so critical of plot developments that occur outside the main groups on Faiz. Spending time setting up a whole new conflict inevitably means less time developing the characters. I don't love that trade-off!
