He did talk to them, that's when he got the idea to invent the voice in a box. He removed himself from the equation since he carries a stigma with him that for better or worse opens and closes certain ways to interact with the people around him.

Gai wouldn’t have accepted a talk from Aruto. Fuwa doesn't open up to him and Yua cannot talk to anyone out of guilt.

Of course with due time and fitting writing this could’ve been pulled off, but for a better pace I don’t mind that it is Aruto's invention helping everyone out. Because in the end it achieves the same thing. They are connected by Aruto, by his dream.
