Ah. I kinda had a feeling that would be the case. That does kind of prove how much thought went into this series, on the bright side!

Oh, definitely. To be perfectly honest, I could even do without the sex imagery myself, but this show has earned enough credit with me to give it the benefit of the doubt here, especially in light of hearing the romantic angle was apparently the show's own idea in the first place. It wasn't needed, but I can't exactly say it didn't fit the kind of story they were telling, either.
