To be fair, Zero-One in design is more a shout out to the original Kamen Rider, which in of itself was silly and absurd.

Like look at me straight in the eye, and say that "genius motorcyclist-turned-cyborg by super Nazis fights against said super Nazis in a grasshopper-themed biker costume" is not a silly and absurd premise.
