First of all, episode 16 has one of the best gags in Blade, and I really want to take a second to single it out. It's this brilliant exercise in escalation, aided by being staged in a brilliant way. I mean, I could pick this sequence apart for days, it's so good.

My absolute favorite thing about this gag is that Karasuma comes in super hot, yelling about the missing belt, and Kenzaki takes forever to get up. Usually, in a Kamen Rider show, someone comes into a room yelling and folks just launch out of bed, fully present for the scene. Kenzaki definitely spends a few seconds not really processing what's happening, and that's such a great beat in the gag.

My second favorite thing about the gag is how Hirose wanders in, more pissed off about people yelling in the middle of the night than whatever it is that they're yelling about. It's a totally fair feeling for her to have about something happening this late!
