The Sarah Jane Adventures was actually more my kind of thing. I'm still not the biggest fan of Sylvester McCoy though, the rare times I actually seek out Doctor Who I'm most likely to watch either Tom Baker or my favourite Jon Pertwee!
Not too sure if it's me you're responding to... but if so, I'm a fan of both modern and classic Doctor Who! Between my sensibilities and getting into it when it soft rebooted in 2005, I tend to go for modern and have watched every episode of it yet. I'm just a... very not big fan of where Moffat's writing went after his second season. And even though Jodie's got her moments, I'm still waiting for this series to be as good as it once was...
Classic I've seen a bit of a random grabbag of, just depending on which DVDs I picked up for cheap. Seen a bit of all 8 original doctors, and of them I really really like 7 and 1! The movie, as well, despite being... y'know, not amazing; did give us a good look at what kind of doctor we could have had with 8 and I liked him quite a bit.
