I guess I'm seeing it as a function of her age, as much as anything. She's a teenager, and she's probably known Mutsuki for as far back as she can remember. Him suddenly distancing himself from her, and she's already a very... let's say aggressive person, I don't think she's going to give up on Mutsuki. Should she? Yeah, probably! He sort-of sucks! But I get why she's dogged in her perseverance.

(Now, Dr Ladyfriend, her I don't get why she didn't change the locks to keep Tachibana from getting into her office.)

The thing is, I think the show did a decent job of pushing Mutsuki to the background just as his story was getting repetitive. He's been someone who only gets a random scene every episode since, what, 33 or 34? There really hasn't been anything with him as the main subject for at least a dozen episodes. Mostly he's been in as a mild antagonist, not really anyone that has a visible arc. I'm not arguing that's a good thing, mind, but he's definitely a tertiary character at this stage.

Yeah, from the Excite subs, it doesn't seem like they're all that into feeling sorry for Mutsuki. There was a point, around the Shima story, where they were very We Have To Help Mutsuki, but now they're pretty much just Eesh Mutski Amirite. There's more of a sense that what happened to him is tragic, and they'd be more than willing to help him redeem himself, but there's really nothing they can do until he decides to change. I don't know if I'd be quite so willing to forgive him, but I get that Tachibana and Kenzaki would.
