I don't know about Gary Stu, but if he had a bit of training (that he somehow forgot) as a child and if he uses his knowledge of storybooks to use wonderride books in appropriate ways (kinda like Emu used gashat or power up coins well because he is a genius gamer) then Touma would have an excuse to the "but how does he know how to fight so well ?"
Seeing Rintaro reactions in this ep, that will be a plot point to me.


Just noticed at the end, few seconds before Kento/Espada makes his appearance debut, Mei and Rintaro fight over "Eclair au chocolat" pastries (éclair being the french word for "lightning bolt")
