Wow, I know the whole "bringing back past monsters" bit has been a recurring thing in Kamen Rider, but normally they seem to save it for the later arcs, when the focus shifts from MotWs to major villains. To see it already in episode 3 is... actually kind of interesting!? I like how they actually give a reason for it instead of just having past monsters show up with no explanation. I expect it means we'll see fewer unique MotWs, but that frees up more screen time to develop major characters, which is worth it IMO.

And I like how destroying the monster didn't fix the problem. In toku, you kinda get used to the idea that when a monster does something weird with its powers like trapping people in another world, defeating the monster will reverse its powers and put things back the way they should be, so having that subverted makes me feel like the situation is more dangerous.

The hints of backstory we got were interesting too. Calibur's design always makes me think of lightning, so my guess is that he was the previous Espada and Kento's teacher.
