I'm sort of trying not to touch too much on anything right now for much the same reasons. I wouldn't be surprised if I find myself agreeing with whatever you have to say later on, though. Again, I barely remember this series. Plenty of room for me to adjust this comparison!

I've always seen Hibiki as comparable to Kuuga on some level, though. The uniquely auteur style of them was obvious long before I even knew the auteur in question was the same guy for both shows.
