Funny thing is seems like Ryukendo was in the works since 2002 and design phase was in 2003. So I guess even if it was not finalized as Ryukendo yet, Bandai and folks must have caught word on the street rumors about then Takara prepping a toku hero show I guess? But knowing that Ryukendo apparently was supposed to start airing in April 2005 and was filmed during 2005 must mean that they were prepping the show while they were prepping Hibiki. And yes, it seems that Ryukendo filmed for all of 2005 but aired later on 2006 January due to reasons. So they probably did not know every detail, but I assume they decided to consider every possible scenario of this Takara-made hero doing better.
