It's more that, at this point in the story, it seemed like they were suggesting that everyone was working too hard to take care of themselves. Asumu maybe should've been more willing to say he was in pain, but he didn't want to be seen as weak again. Not really where they ended up going, but that's how it read to me at the time.

The Deranged Douji being the highlight of the episode is, like, the perfect example of how weird watching 14 felt. My favorite part was the monster? And I found the Asumu plot thin and unnecessary? No thank you, Kamen Rider Hibiki.
