I've never had any real experience with gatekeepers. I've definitely read some toxic stuff over the years but no real experiences.

Word of advice: be wary of Tumblr, especially the Tumblr fandoms of cartoons and anime. Plenty of crazy people there. Not all of them for sure, but the crazy ones are quite prevalent.

Oh and don't get me started on the Tumblr anime shipping communities.
