Now, look at the Boom comics. They’re telling their own stories, which are rooted in nostalgia but not beholden to Sentai, and they’re a huge hit. And the Lightning Collection figures for Drakon and Ranger Slayer fly off the shelves.

If you’re Hasbro, and you see that “traditional” PR adaptations of Sentai shows aren’t profitable, while the original Boom comics and Lightning Collection toys are, I think there’s a pretty clear road sign pointing you to where the money is. Ultimately, tradition comes in second to profits. A company like Hasbro, that spent billions to own PR, aren’t going to leave money on the table just because a minority of fans care about new Sentai adaptations.

TBH, I think a lot of the future is still up in the air, and whether the traditional PR adaptations of Sentai live or die will depend on the success of Dino Fury. But just going off of what’s successful now, and what isn’t, the PR-Sentai union is not looking good.

it's because neo-saban and hasbro is stuck in the past by throwing mmpr in the story, that's why it's failing. fans want to see different themes/ideas every year, that's what makes fans come back. doing the same things over and over again and expect the different result is a recipe for failure.

if hasbro is still doing that in their making of a pr series and that flops, that's bad news for pr.
