I've often felt like one big difference was that Sentai accepts the inherent silliness of a lot of the ideas, but PR is super embarrassed by it, so they try to make it "cool" with overblown called-out attack names and such, which actually makes it way more awkward than if they'd just played it straight...

All that aside, as others have mentioned Entwistle is a wild pick but I'm definitely intrigued. Both I'm Not Okay With This and End Of The F*ing World are pretty dark coming-of-age comedy/drama series (and both based on comics by the same author!), I enjoyed both of them a lot but suffice to say they're about as far from Power Rangers as you could imagine!
My honest guess at this point is that Entwistle's series will be an edgier Netflix series separate to whatever regular PR season comes up next. (There's definitely precedent, Hasbro did this recently with Transformers Siege which was uh... nothing special but not awful.) I can see it being something which focuses much more on the rangers as people than the rangers as rangers, possibly not getting powers or properly forming a team until fairly late in. Pure speculation though!
