It's that the show used past history to tell new stories. Asumu isn't just attacked on the street, he's beaten up by the same shoplifter who threatened him before. It's all a consequence of previous storylines, and it feels like something that gets a resolution here.

Well, you can forbid a child, you can't really forbid an adult. Forbidding an adult means the adult has to accept someone else's control over their life and autonomy. That's something that takes agreement. For Tsutomu and training to be an Oni, it might be something he revisits in a few years, when he can.

As far as children training to fight... do you mean like martial arts? Because there's a huge difference between sparring in a competition and fighting a literal giant to the death. There are vastly different stakes!
