This is a bit of a misunderstanding of how fight scenes are handled in Sentai.
Yes, Kamihoriuchi is the main series director for Ryusoulger, but... series directors aren’t really responsible for action scenes (except in the occasional, heavily story-based action scene). The action directors are. In Sentai’s case, Hirofumi Fukuzawa has been the main action director since Go-Busters.
Now, that’s not to say that there isn’t some collaboration between a main series director and the action director. There definitely is. But the main creative forces in the fight scenes are the action directors.
Basically, if you like the action in Ryusoulger, you’ll probably find something to like about the action scenes in all the post-Go-Busters series.
I, personally, think Fukuzawa is very hit-or-miss. The action in earlier shows is wayyy more visceral and cinematic, IMO. For 90s series, check out the fights from Dairanger and Ohranger. For 80s series, check out Bioman and Maskman. For more modern series, check out the action in Shinkenger and Gokaiger. There’s also some badass stuff in JAKQ, but it takes some commitment and patience to get into the wayyy older shows.
Those are my top tier recommendations.
