Yep. Though I still am skeptical about an adaptation, I can see it be a thing if they go vigilantes vs cops angle with it. That would be interesting instead of fidgeting the not-so-familiar phantom thief concept/trope I think. The whole phantom thief stuff is more accepting in non-American regions probably thanks to hit manga/anime characters such as Lupin the 3rd, the Cat's Eye crew, and Kaito Kid, but even if Lupin the 3rd is a known property somewhat it doesn't feel that prominent in North America I think.
But yeah, I remain skeptical but repurposing them as rogue vigilante rangers could be somewhat plausible that could retain the core concept of LuPat without bringing negative connotations from the potentially concerned.
