I haven't watched Saber for five or six weeks so these days and I've been binge-watching it and I don't know if I missed something that I needed to watch because a lot of the decisions in this episode don't make sense to me.

So it turns out that Calibur was looking for the traitor? Then why go with Megido? The enemies still don't have a personality other than destroy the world, which makes Kamijou's alliance with them even stranger. I don't get his logic behind this, they're obviously bad guys and who guaranties him that they don't have a Plan B. They let him go and get the power of a god? Either they're dumb or they knew his plan all along, which may explain how Desast came out of nowhere.

Second, the pillars came down way too easy. Rintarou managed to destroy all of them. Yes, he has an upgraded form, but it's the same level as Touma's. Wouldn't have been more easy to give Buster and Hayate one yellow Wonderbook and, with their respective other two, destroy each one a pillar while Saber destroys the other three with Dragonic Knight, they could've done that before Calibur even flies to the book, and if it was not possible in that time, have Slash and Rintarou entertain Calibur. I know they have to show off the new toy, but you could just say that the amount of power needed to destroy those pillars was too much for Touma so Rintarou uses his new form, brought from the Base by Mei, to defeat Megido. Or make the pillars have to be destroyed by a ritual with the swords, like we've seen before when Touma and Kento went for King of Arthur.

Finally, by the look of the preview that a temporary mistrust will be put upon Touma, but getting all the riders attack him seems rushed to me. Which is my overall feeling about this show, I feel that I'm watching it at 2x speed, things happen so fast that I have little to no time to appreciate them.

This feeling I think is encapsulated by the thing that, no joking, made me watch the progress bar of my video player: Touma getting out of darkness. He got out of there in less than three minutes, Garo Gold Storm did almost the same and it took two episodes, and it's half the number of episodes. This should be one of the high notes of the episode, I mean, at the end of the day setting the destiny of people it's a writer's job; it's kind of meta if you think about, because we know that their destinies are sealed by the writer and producers at Toei but these characters not. I'm not saying they should break the 4th wall like Akibaranger, but I think it's a subject that should put our protagonist at least in a small crisis, but it ends with the power of love which is very underwhelming, specially done so fast.

I truly want to like Saber, the designs are fantastic and the cast is growing on me, but the direction is all over the place, sometimes feels like forced drama and other times it comes with comedy at more serious moments.
