Then we get to the real draw of the episode with the whole RETURN and the formation of Grateful Phoenix! It's a cool looking Mecha and it shows. The battle was the main intent the entire time, wasn't it?

"Obvious-Reference-Is-Very-Obvious" #1: I'm not the only one who thinks Hakobu looks like Superlink/Energon Galvatron/Megatron, and when you have the healed Mashin on top, it looks like a colossal Mini-Con Powerlink!

"Obvious-Reference-Is-Very-Obvious" #2: The whole shtick behind the Phoenix is about rising from the dead. Which means Grateful Phoenix is really "Grateful Dead"! Someone on the crew or the Mecha designer must be a serious fan of Western music!
