Tsurugi is consistently a great source of comedy and drama, like that subplot with Discalibur and every scene between him and Kagami. I love that! Now that you mention it, Hiyori's sudden absence is probably a bigger factor in my reduced enjoyment in this stretch of the show than my frustration for Yaguruma. However, the payoff when Hiyori returns is pretty awesome and worth looking forward to, that's when the show gets good again.

Regarding what else I enjoy about Yaguruma, well, honestly, I voiced my lack of investment in him even before he was edgy, in The Bee's debut arc, so he's probably just not a character I can relate to. You make a good point that he kind of fits with the narrative in a very unsubtle way, but it's not for me.
