Anyway, back to the current episode, I really liked Touma's gambit of waiting for the book to be completed and then destroying it at the last second, but that would get boring if he had to do it every episode so I guess I can forgive Yuri's "oh, just cut them down with me, that will work" reveal. I figured it would be revealed that some kind of special attack was the way to save the human-Megid, and at least it's better than Zero-One where Aruto's fears of harming the humans within the Raiders amounted to nothing.

But dang, I miss seasons like W where each MotW was a puzzle as well as an enemy and part of how the riders beat them was by figuring them out. Saber showed a bit of that with Touma using his book knowledge to help in fights, but not as much as I'd like. It could've been so cool if, for example, each human-Megid had a specific weakness that would destroy them without killing the human inside, and the heroes had to figure out each one's weakness by a mix of book research and observing it in combat.

But Saber is clearly focusing on the big overarching mysteries and the struggles within the SoL, so I guess they couldn't make the individual MotWs too interesting without distracting from that.
