I really want to like this show at 100% again. But I just can’t when it keeps doing episodes like this.

Quite a few abilities used (like Mabushiina’s ability to make gems shine brighter and the Kiramagers having a zoom and enhance function) just seem like, they came out of nowhere just so they could be used for this episode.

How the hell did Kiba Basra make his appearance? It’s been established (and otherwise kept consistent) that Jamenju can’t appear unless enough Yami energy has been gathered.

The final showdown with Shadon felt like such a blatant copy of the Magiranger episode that I’m surprised they weren’t playing Dangan! Shooting Star during the scene.

Aside from the mech battle, this really didn’t feel like a late game episode so much as a mid season filler. Shadon was wasted and the synopsis and production details for the next two episodes don’t inspire much confidence.

That said, I did like Shadon’s use of shadows as a gimmick… which just makes me annoyed that they haven’t played up Yodonheim’s ‘darkness’ gimmick other than this episode.
