When talking about ratings you also have to consider the -fan- aspect -- something that may not have been popular at the time could have become a big cult favourite among the fandom later. In particular Super Minipla bases most of its release choices on surveys it hands out to fans; and sure enough, Gaoranger has been very high on recent surveys.

Well you seem to know more about this than I do. I just find it hard to believe that the first Sentai Minipla released being the most internationally recognized one is coincidence.

Similarly, GoLion was seen as just another super robot anime in an endless sea of super robot anime when it came out, but Voltron popularized it and now it has a SMP release as well.

Anyways, do you know where Dairanger falls on these fan lists? Or what other seasons tend to rank towards the top?
