I definitely can't make any particularly educated guesses, but I can contribute, from the very small window I can see out of, that a rather popular Japanese toy reviewer I watch regularly says Ninninger is his favorite recent Sentai and has at least once bemoaned that he doesn't get a lot of people agreeing with him on that, which, you know, hard same.

The opinions among older fans might line up more often than we might think? I've certainly seen people rag on Kamen Rider Ghost in at least two languages!
