I've had trouble talking about episodes before, but this is the first time it's been due to
disinterest
. Usually it's down to too many thoughts about something, not too few. Here, it's like this episode was all smooth surfaces, nothing that really sparked a neuron. It was pleasant and forgettable. Talking about it was like trying to talk about a relaxing yawn. There's just nothing
there
, really?
This is the opposite of the feeling I had when I started the Ghost thread, where I was so desperate to talk about what was going on in that show. Here, it's just That Was An Episode Of Den-O, and I can't think of anything interesting to say about it.
This is a little scary!
So I like that the show takes its time to slowly roll out the Taros instead of dumping them on us really quickly (like a show we'll talk about next year, for example). By spending four episodes on each Imagin it gives the audience a chance to get to know each one and what their deal is. It also makes these later parts of this era feel really slow and drawn out. We'll eventually get past it and start doing stuff that isn't establishing new Imagins/forms, but we still have a little ways to go.
That said, I'm excited to get to the two-parter after this one. I love those episodes.
