I love that when you look at Garulu Form you go Kuuga, when the first thing I thought of for it was Agito Storm Form. The blue over the chest, and the one weird shoulder pad? My brain was like Oh Agito almost immediately.

I think the main problem in this story, for Otoya, is that the show wants to have its comedy cake (he's triumphantly awful!) while eating its drama cake (with a sensitive soul!), too. If they'd aimed a little lower with Otoya's Reign Of Terror, they'd have an easier time landing a story about his complicated connection to beauty and art. It's a balance, and this story massively missed it.

For the record, I also recall rather liking Megumi, on a more positive note. It's been so long since I've seen the show I couldn't give you a particularly specific answer as to why, but "outstanding chemistry with everyone" certainly matches up with what vague memories I have left. She was a character I remember just being fun to have around, basically? (Also, her little pistol with the wings or whatever? That thing is neat and I like it!)

She's got this great opposing energy to everyone she meets? Whatever they're doing, she plays the opposite note, and it makes every scene pop.
